Awkana Buddha which is one of very proudest Buddha statues of Sri Lanka. It is
Situated near Anuradhapura and Kakirawa region. There is a famous Vally called "Kala
Wawa" is very close to Awkana Buddha statue. This statue looks great and
most people who have come to visit it is amazing. Any one unable to think
how Big Buddha Statue like this could be made. The fully statue has made
by rock. The ancient man had very sensitive eye.
King "Dhathusena" who was govern Sri Lanka in 455 AD is very famous and powerful person. The Awkana Buddha statue and kala wawa ware created by him.
