Raththane Genaration
Before 1850 in the village part of the Ratthane there lived two brothers called Ratthane Rala and Ratthane Punchirala. Punchirala was unmarried and lived in the temple and every lands belongs to him were donated to the temple and raththane Rala’s children were Appurala and Hinhamy . There Swere no male children to Hinhamy although Appurala had two sons they were Badderala and Kiribanda
Appurala was died in 1850 decay and then the elders son of Appurala Badderala got the money from his mother to pay the Government taxes although he got those money to smuggling and then government agent decide to put those land into the government auction and then Badderala went out from the village the monk of the village temple paid the taxes to the government and got the land to the temples ownership.
Kiribanda’s sons were Sudubanda, Heenbanda, Siribaddhana, Appuhami, Suduappo and Muthubanda. Appuhamy is my (web designer) grandfather and he was born in 1901.
In the middle of 19th century Alawathugoda have had only two tiled roof. First one is Madaulugedara and other one is Pahalaulugedara. The masons and carpenters came to build up those from Ambalangoda. On those days Rs.750 cost for build up Madaulugedara. In 1983 Madaulugedara was broken.
