Dehiwala Karagampitiya Shastrananda pirivena is Branch
of Alawathugoda Temple. Shastrananda pirivena is monks'
trainee school. Not only monks but also all students can
improve Buddhism from it. Dehiwala Shastrananda pirivena
was established by Rev. Hon Pundit Uwe Silarathana Thero
in 1949. Here before Silarathana Thero is chief in
combent of Alawathugoda Temple. When start the Pirivena
Silarathana Thero had gone there and had become as chief
in combent Rev. Kinigama Dhammanandha Thero.
After this period all the monks of Alawathugoda Temple
were studied at Shastrananda pirivena of Dehiwala. After
Dead Silarathana Thero Rev. Gorandiyakumbure Wimalagnana
Thero became the chief in combent of Dehiwala
Karagampitiya Shastrananda pirivena.
Lot of monks are being studied at this Pirivena and you
can get rest this temple.
